It's the THIRD of July!

Now, I don't know how it is anywhere else in America, but in my little town, the 4th of July is bigger than any other holiday- even Christmas cannot compete. I for one love the Fourth. Everyone is on bikes, moving from one party to the next, everyone is in swimsuits, the sun is shining, music is blasting, and the barbecue is fired up. It is the epitome of summer here.

Now, there was a bit of a dispute this year because the Fourth falls on a Sunday this year, and so the parade was today (the 3rd). At first we disliked this thought very much, because several parties (like ours) had a pre-parade or after-parade catch to them, and we wanted to celebrate on the actual holiday, not the day before. But, alas, the Third is over and now I wish it was like this every year. Two days of parties is just way better than one! And it's spaced out, so you don't crash by, like, six -well, at least most of us don't. We have some parties today, but tomorrow there are even more festivities, without having to worry about the parade traffic and such.

It is true that we have a very unique Fourth of July, and I must say that I've never celebrated the holiday anywhere else, and I certainly wouldn't want to. But just curious- how do others celebrate the holiday? Is it more laid back, just as crazy?

And of course to keep this in the realm of fashion, here are some patriotic Chanel outfits from their Spring '08 collection. Enjoy!
