Alexa Chung
She's one of the most stylish Brits around, and this year was full of successes for Alexa Chung. As of now, she's been the host of multiple TV shows and I believe is signed on to do a new one next year, has a Mulberry bag named after her, has her own line for Madewell...all while wearing the coolest clothes ever. Her style itself is laid-back and simple, as if she got her clothes from some thrift shop rather than from some of the biggest designers around.

Can I just say THANK THE LORD that school is over until the new year! Yeah! And to celebrate I wore this festive skirt I made last week. It's raw silk with a ribbon trim and perfect for the holidays.

The Fanning Sisters
Okay, so they're actually two girls, but both of them had amazing years this year (Dakota with Twilight and The Runaways; Elle with Somewhere) and they really developed themselves as emerging fashion icons. I mean, when I was twelve, I was still wearing jean jackets and Keds. The best thing is, though, that they really dress pretty age-appropriately, a rare feat these days in Hollywood. Dakota looks like a seventeen-year-old with her simple hair and adorable frocks- nothing too scandalous or revealing. Elle also works young and feminine looks, and I love that her shoes aren't these ridiculous five inch Louboutins but rather nice, modest shoes that a twelve-year-old can actually wear.
