We have recently witnessed a denim revolution of sorts. What used to only be offered in a variety of blue washes now appears in every color of the rainbow. Feeling bright and bold? Try a hot pink pant. Going for a monochromatic lavender but wanting the feel of your favorite worn-in jeans? I think that is what I most enjoy about these sorbet-hued pants- they are as reliable as your usual pair of jeans and yet they give you the sleekness of a dressier pant. In a world where denim pants reign supreme, it is important to learn to adapt these pants for any and all occasions, and it does appear that the colorful jean is the latest and greatest invention of the denim industry.

Ah, springtime is finally upon us, and it seems that the spring fashions have gone classically spring. Pastels are the march-to-may staple and everyone from Jil Sander to Yves Saint Laurent is jumping on the sweet fifties trend. Mint, peach, and bubblegum are the biggest hits. Take your pick!

the mod squad

I can't believe I missed it somehow (probably when I was on my trip last weekend) but today I finally got around to seeing the Philosophy fall show and promptly declared it one of my favorite collections. The pastels for fall, the girly-mod 60s theme, the opulent but subtle details and patterns...I'm sure I would have swooned had I been there during the presentation, I enjoyed it that much.

The clothes immediately conjured up pictures of Twiggy in her awesome shift minis and other glamorous mod girls of the sixties.The Easter egg pallet gave the collection a more innocent touch (which I of course adore) and Alberta Ferretti managed to make this lighter collection still appropriate for fall by pairing each perfect dress with a fabulous matching coat. Perhaps the collection is a little too good-girl for some, but I personally adore it. I would do anything to get my hands one one of those baby blue coats.
