how does one pack up one's own life?

This is half of my closet. Only half. And somehow I have to bring it all to college in two days and jam everything into a cramped dorm closet. I'm told that I need to choose, choose what articles I find most important, most neccessary for my survival at school. 

But how does one choose? I love every single item of clothing that hangs from this closet. That's why I have these pieces! Because I love them so!

Dorm Style

I just got back from orientation (which was fabulous, by the way!) and am so inspired to make my dorm look wonderful! I recently ordered my bedding (multicolor polka-dot sheets with a turquoise comforter) and am looking to the internet for decoration inspiration. Here are some great ideas:

Fight On!

Guess what arrived in the mail today? You have no idea how excited I am. I even wore a mustard sweater and red raw silk skirt to school today to show off how absolutely stoked I was to receive a BIG ENVELOPE from THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (aka the university of spoiled children, where I will fit in perfectly!)

Who would ever think that burgundy and gold go so well together? Certainly not I, but upon second thought I realize there are a lot of opportunities for these colors. So I scoured the internet to find some possible school-spirit-appropriate clothes, and wouldn't you know, even Proenza Schouler has hopped on the "Burgundy <3's Gold" Train. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
